Supporting the Global Refugee Crisis: The Pin Project

There are over 22.5 million refugees displaced from their homes – or nearly 20 people every minute, according to the UN Refugee Agency (June 2017)
Over 12 million of them are under the age of 18
55% of refugees come from South Sudan, Afghanistan and Syria

The Pin Project is a global initiative to raise awareness on the plight of refugees and displaced populations. Through a coalition of like-minded social enterprises and organizations led by Far + Wide Collective, The Pin Project directly supports the skills and livelihoods of local artisans.

Celebrated Canadian Designer Jenny Bird has created a pin that will be produced by artisans around the world.  The pin is inspired by the “kite” – a symbol of hope.  It will be produced in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Jordan, Burkina, Faso, Lebanon, Turkey and Syria. With a successful campaign, a number of other countries are planned including Uganda, Kenya and Bangladesh.

The Pin Project is live on Kickstarter

100% of the proceeds will go directly back to creating better lives for refugees and their families.

As many are looking for a way to give back this holiday season, supporting The PIN Project for just $32 is a small way to start to make a big impact
