DMC's Holiday Bazaar!

Yesterday, the Deb McCain team took over Fat Pasha for our annual Hot Holiday Media Preview. On one of the hottest patios this summer, we asked editors to join us and preview our curated selection of holiday pieces. Already sorted into nifty gift guides, we took our media friends through a holiday bazaar designed to please even the most challenging of would-be giftees.

Brunswick and Co.’s Avenue clutch hit instant covet-worthy status with its array of luxe fabrics (shearling and lamb leather – drool) and gorgeous contrasting suede interiors. Far and Wide Collective’s offering was a natural fit for “The Feel Goods”, with their business model of partnering with local artisans in developing countries, and their Charcoal Gold pulp bowls from Swaziland hit all the right notes of unique home décor and eco-friendly.

Smythe wowed as usual with holiday suiting and a cream lace skirt fit for a princess, while Toronto-based Michelle Ross rounded out “Lady Tastemaker” with a fresh take on pearl necklaces and delicate crystal earrings. For the “Globe Trotting” person in your life, shoes from Miz Mooz, Vionic or Sergio Tomani are sure to do the trick as they meld comfort with trendy styles.

Not just for the ladies, Ron White ensured the men in our lives will be appropriately shod come the holidays in stylish monkstrap loafers and patent leather oxfords. And, what “Style Guy” would be complete without a set of tasteful (and tasty!) toothpicks? Daneson’s Bourbon flavoured toothpicks are steeped with 6-year old, barrel aged Kentucky straight bourbon with an available leather carrying case! Lastly, Stolen Riches’ Style in a Box gift set will ensure a boring old suit will be snazzed up with a pops of colour in unexpected ways. Suited and booted, we say!

In a nod to what’s surely the song of Summer 2014, “I’m So Fancy” featured dazzling accessories by Rita Tesolin, The Costume Queen, and the ubiquitous Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats now in studded punk glory, available at Avenue K. Of course, what’s holiday without a bit of heel? heel boy delivered pumped up Sam Edelman booties and gold accented peep toes by Nine West.

Buck & Cook have sorted out gifts for the little ones that are both practical and super cute with their new line of Smitties, a base layer jacket with high-performance mittens attached. The “Host With the Most” would definitely know to pick up Sarah Richardson’s new book, Sarah Style, for insider tips on how to spruce up your home before guests arrive. But for those who never arrive empty-handed, a selection of The Honest Leaf’s organic teas is a great alternative to the customary bottle of wine.

With a delectable piece of chocolate covered matzo brittle in hand, we’d like to give a giant thank you to all who came to celebrate a hot holiday with us! See you next year!
